Exmouth Roadies support local services like CB Chimneys for your chimney sweeping and fireplace maintenance.

Are you stacking up the odds on a chimney fire?

Has your fireplace suddenly become a welcoming feature of your house in this unusually cold winter? Do your hearth’s living flames make panel radiators seem ugly and unfriendly? But has your chimney not been properly swept for years?

A good chimney is essential to the continuing efficient and safe operation of all solid fuel burning heating and cooking appliances, and the importance of chimney maintenance and regular and frequent chimney sweeping cannot be over-emphasised if you want to enjoy your fireplace safely.

HETAS is the only competent persons scheme specialising in the installation and maintenance of open fires and stoves which use solid fuels, including wood, and recommends that chimney sweeping is best carried out by HETAS Approved chimney sweeps like Exmouth’s Steven Cornish.

Mr Cornish is a member of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps, whose members have to have insurance cover and undertake to operate to a Code of Conduct carrying out their work to an agreed Code of Practice. In order to maintain and improve the standards of chimney sweeping NACS is accredited to operate the HETAS Solid Fuel Awareness two-day course which is specifically aimed at members involved in sweeping chimneys serving solid fuel heating and cooking appliances. They study a range of topics such as chimney design and construction together with potential faults and their detection and correction, solid fuels and their properties and the design, construction and proper and safe operation of solid fuel burning appliances.

Mr Cornish has won praise from customers in the Exmouth Road area, who describe his work as "thorough, and very clean." He can also install woodburners.
